Hay Co-op for Needy Horse Owners
Providing hay at subsidized prices

Rose Mary & time, Inc.(RM&t) a non-profit 501(c)3 is seeking donations to purchase hay in order to resell to horse owners at subsidized prices.
We locate quality affordable hay and purchase it in bulk. Needy horse owners apply for aid and purchase hay at normal market prices.
Why Is This Necessary?
Hay prices have doubled in most places due to a shortage in surrounding states caused by fire and drought. This rapid price increase has exceeded the ability of horse owners to pay.

Owners who cannot afford to feed their horses get caught in a cycle of unhealthy horses dying or being sold at auction to horse killers or being taken in by rescuers who struggle keeping up with the cost of hay.
Colorado Hay Crisis
Colorado is on the brink of a hay crisis, and demand has quickly exceeded supply. Neighboring states that are coping with below-average hay production in the midst of a serious drought have been coming to Colorado to find hay, and this is causing not only skyrocketing prices, but an unprecedented scarcity of hay state-wide.

How Can You Help? How Can We Help?
We pay $9-12 per bale and owners purchase for $4-8 per bale. Donors can help with the shortfall. Horse owners can make application for aid based on ability to pay. One bale of hay will feed one horse for generally 3 days. Your donation of $100 will subsidize a horse for nearly two months. Most horse owners have 2-3 horses on average as they will often be rescuing other horses.
